SYNOPSIS:

“When Henry Jekyll’s experiments with cocaine have gotten out of control, he transforms into the hideous Jack Hyde. As Hyde he searches the London streets at night for his prey in whorehouses and opium dens. The police can’t catch him, he has nothing to lose but his mind…

REVIEW:

Anthony Perkins, from the original Psycho film is incredible here (as he always was) as Henry Jekyll, a guy who turns into an incredibly sadistic killer after he begins experimenting with cocaine.

This film I believe was released in a view different versions, but the best one (of course) is the unrated edition. For a film from 1989, this is quite a nasty piece of work, and contains some pretty gruesome killings, yet also some beautiful cinematography and directing by Gérard Kikoïne.

Without giving too much away, Edge of Sanity is an excellent psychological slasher flick, quite a bit of nudity, and some really amazing camerawork. If you’re into horror films, slashers, or psychological thrillers at all, see this (It’s just been re-released on Bluray which looks amazing – I picked it up in a Bluray double-feature box along with Destroyer, also starring Anthony Perkins!).

RATING:

7 out of 10 – Fun still, even after all these years, and the Bluray looks amazing!
