Monster in the Closet (1986)

SYNOPSIS:

Monster is a spoof of horror/monster films. After several people and a dog are found dead in their closets a “mild-mannered” reporter, a college professor, her son and a befuddled professor band together to uncover the mystery but not without involving the U.S. Army and mass panic.”

REVIEW:

Directed and written by Bob Dahlin, this is a Troma film from 1986, which I have recently re-watched in order to do this review, and I must say…

I hated it!

I remember loving this damn film as a kid – I saw it on VHS when it first came out, and remember talking about it at school for weeks, but obviously this is intended for children, not particularly adults.

The screenshots below kinda speak for themselves, and you can clearly see this flick is incredibly dated, full of cheese (not in a good way), but this may be deliberately. Troma likes to poke fun, it’s part of their charm, but this one just isn’t that charming.

RATING:

3 out of 10 – a childhood “Classic” which is no longer a classic…
