Savage Streets (1984)

Savage Streets

SYNOPSIS:

“An altercation between a group of girls out for the night and a gang of local punks leaves the punks vowing revenge. It comes in the form of the gang-rape of a young mute (Heather) and her older sister (Brenda) starts hunting the gang in turn – armed with bear traps and crossbow.”

REVIEW:

Savage Streets is one of my favorite 80’s trashy exploitation action flicks (let’s face it – the 80’s had it’s fair share of these!).

The reason that this film succeeds above many of the others doing the rounds back then is because it has personality, charm, and pretty good performances from Linda Blair and the incredibly beautiful Linnea Quigley(Return of the living Dead).

The soundtrack to this film is also amazing, including tracks by fellow Aussie John Farnham.

The violence in this film is also something that makes it stand out from others of the era, it doesn’t hold back on anything really, including a very nasty gang-rape scene, and some amazing crossbow killings 🙂

Do yourselves a favor, if you haven’t seen this 80’s exploitation classic yet, pick it up asap and make sure you enjoy!

RATING:

7.9 out of 10 – A classic of the genre.
